WHERE IT ALL STARTED
Island Elite Detail began during one of the hardest seasons of my life. When my daughter moved to Georgia, I was in a low place, and sitting behind a desk all day only made it harder. I needed to move, work with my hands, and put my energy into something I genuinely loved.
I had spent years caring for my own vehicles and already owned many of the tools, so I started detailing. It gave me something positive to focus on, and I fell in love with the process, the transformation, and the pride that came from doing the work well.
JOINING FORCES
Along the way, I met Brent, who was running his own detailing business. We shared the same passion and saw an opportunity to build something stronger together. We joined forces and helped transform Island Elite Detail into the growing team and dedicated Kihei studio it is today.

What services do you offer?
We offer professional ceramic coatings, premium interior and exterior detailing, paint correction, clear-coat restoration, and ongoing maintenance. Each service is tailored to your vehicle’s condition and your goals.
How much does detailing or ceramic coating cost?
Pricing depends on your vehicle’s size, condition, and the service selected. Detailing packages can be viewed and booked online, while ceramic coatings, paint correction, and restoration projects may require a personalized estimate.
How long does a ceramic coating last?
We offer ceramic coating options designed for different ownership goals, including three-year, eight-year, and permanent coating options. Actual longevity depends on the coating selected and how the vehicle is maintained.
Does my vehicle need paint correction before ceramic coating?
Not necessarily. Some vehicles need only a light paint enhancement, while others benefit from more extensive correction to address swirls, oxidation, or water spots. We evaluate the paint and recommend the appropriate preparation.
Can damaged or failing clear coat be restored?
In some cases, yes. Depending on its condition, weathered or failing clear coat may be improved with our clear-coat restoration process. We inspect the affected areas before recommending the best solution.
Do I bring my vehicle to your shop, or do you offer mobile service?
Most services are completed at our dedicated Kihei studio, where we can provide a controlled environment and professional results. Mobile service may be available when bringing your vehicle to the shop is not practical.
How long will my appointment take?
Service times vary based on your vehicle’s condition and the work involved. Detailing appointments generally take several hours, while paint correction, ceramic coating, and restoration services may require additional time.
How do I book or request an estimate?
You can book detailing services online or request a personalized estimate for ceramic coatings, paint correction, and clear-coat restoration. If you are unsure which service fits your needs, call or text us for guidance.

Where is your detailing studio located, and what areas do you serve?
Our studio is located at 330 Ohukai Rd., Unit 117, in Kihei, Hawaii. We serve vehicle owners throughout Maui, including Kihei, Wailea, Kahului, Wailuku, and surrounding communities.
Will a ceramic coating prevent scratches or water spots?
Ceramic coatings help protect your vehicle’s finish from environmental exposure and make routine cleaning easier, but they are not scratch-proof or completely resistant to water spots. Proper washing and maintenance are still important.
What’s the difference between paint correction and clear-coat restoration?
Paint correction improves existing paint by addressing defects such as swirls, oxidation, haze, and light scratches. Clear-coat restoration is designed for certain finishes showing more advanced deterioration or clear-coat failure. We evaluate your vehicle to determine which approach is appropriate.
Do you offer maintenance after detailing or ceramic coating?
Yes. We offer ongoing maintenance services to help keep your vehicle clean, preserve its appearance, and maintain the performance of its protective coating. We can recommend a schedule based on your vehicle and how it is used.

How long does a detailing service take, and what is included?
Detailing services can take anywhere from 2 to 8+ hours, depending on the package selected and the vehicle's condition. Our services include comprehensive interior and exterior cleaning, such as vacuuming, shampooing, waxing, and paint enhancement in higher-tier packages. Each package is designed to provide meticulous care, ensuring your vehicle looks its best.
What should I do to prepare my car for detailing?
To help us work efficiently, please remove all personal items from your car. Empty the trunk, glove compartment, and any other areas with personal belongings. This allows us to focus fully on cleaning and detailing every part of your vehicle.
If the glove box is not emptied out, we will not remove the items and it will not be detailed.
We do not remove seat covers from vehicles. If you have seat covers on, we will vacuum and clean the seat covers as best as possible. If you want the seats cleaned, please remove the seat covers prior to your appointment.
We will not remove or uninstall/install car seats due to liability. If you vehicle has a car seat, please remove them prior to your appointment.

Can detailing remove scratches and swirl marks from my car's paint?
To effectively remove scratches and swirl marks from your vehicle's paint, a specialized service called paint correction is required. There are also limits to paint correction and deep scratches and more may require a automotive body and paint shop.
Please note that none of our detailing packages include paint correction.
*Note: Our Premium packages and services include a "Paint Enhancement" service that may reduce the appearance of light to moderate scratches and swirls, but the main goal of a paint enhancement is to bring the pop and shine back to your paint.
For paint correction requests, we recommend texting and sending us pictures of the current condition of your paint to get a quote - text us at 808-400-8878.
Do your detail packages remove water spots?
Our water spot removal is an add-on service; separate from our exterior services and packages.
All water spot removal services require our Premium Elite Exterior service or our Premium Elite Exterior/Interior Package due to the water spot treatment process.
Water spots are caused by hard water being left to dry on your vehicles paint. The most common causes of water spots are by sprinkler systems and rinsing your car with the hose outside your house and driving it off to air and sun dry.
The clear coat on the paint of your car is a plastic. When the water sits on the clear coat and heats up from the sun, the clear coat gets soft and the minerals etch or "melt" into your clear coat causing the water spots.
It's the minerals that cause the water spots.
Our water spot removal service safely removes the minerals from the paint that caused the water spots.
After removing the minerals, there may still be the etching or "scarring" of the minerals on the clear coat. In other words, it will still look like the water spots are still there.
To remove the water spots, it requires machine polishing. In order to machine polish, the paint needs to be cleaned and free of contaminates. For this reason, our water spot removal process requires our Premium exterior services and package, which includes machine polishing and will address the "scarring" of the water spots.

How often should I get my car detailed?
We recommend a full detail every 3-6 months, depending on your driving conditions and climate. For cars in harsher environments (salt, dust, high UV exposure), more frequent detailing can help protect paint and upholstery. Regular maintenance details between full services will keep your car looking pristine year-round and we offer maintenance packages at a discount for customers that regularly detail their vehicle.
What should I expect when booking my detail?
Detailing your vehicle is an investment. It's more than just cleaning your car. It's enhancing it, maintaining the resell value, and giving you a feeling of enjoyment - like when you first bought your car.
When you book your detail, we will reach out to confirm your appointment and discover any areas of your vehicle that you want us to focus on. We will then send you and estimate and when you approve the estimate - you confirm your appointment.
On the day of the appointment, we will perform the service you booked. Once completed, we will do a walk around with you to make sure you are completely satisfied with your detail.
If there are any spots, you want us to touch up, we will take care of it to ensure you are stoked on your detail.
Then we will send you the invoice and a link to easily leave us a review.
Finally, you enjoy the feeling of your freshly detailed car!

Unfortunately, we do not offer same-day appointments.
